By road.

The nearest autoroute access points are at Carcassonne and near Rivesaltes to the north of Perpignan.  From Carcassonne, you travel south via Limoux and Quillan, through the spectacular gorges towards Axat, and on to Lapradelle.  From Rivesaltes (or from Perpignan airport) you drive west through Estagel and St. Paul-de-Fenouillet to Lapradelle.  Both routes are very picturesque and to be savoured.  Our house is well away from the main road from Perpignan to Quillan via Lapradelle.  We suggest that you avoid Perpignan in the rush-hours - it can be a bottle-neck.

By rail.

The nearest main railway stations are at Perpignan and Carcassonne.  From both, you get good connections to Toulouse, Bordeaux, Barcelona and Paris.  There is a train from Quillan to Carcassonne.  Otherwise, you have your little tourist train, Le Papillon, which stops at Lapradelle on its way between Axat and near Rivesaltes.  It makes for a pleasant day out.
